Wat Opot is a nongovernment refuge for Cambodian children who are HIV-positive or who have lost their primary caregiver to AIDS. Gutradt began volunteering there in an attempt to cure her midlife depression. Inspired by her experiences, she became a frequent volunteer at Wat Opot and now fundraises for the organization she calls "a workshop for souls."
