The centerpiece of this "archive-in-a-box" is the restored 1948 documentary about the war crimes trials of Nazi leaders. Created by Stuart Schulberg for the U.S. War Department, the film covers the Nuremberg trials, providing context with an overview of the war and the rise of the Nazis. Shown in Germany in 1948 and 1949, it was, for political reasons, never seen in the United States.
