PreS The plot is simple in this rhyming puzzle, but the anticipation builds to a delightful end. A small farm boy says, "I had a carrot in my pocket. Oh no! Now it's gone./I had a carrot in my pocket. Who ate it? C'mon!" Through the lilting rhythmic verse, readers follow his activities, from the barn to the garden to the apple trees and back to the barn.
