PreS-Gr 2 A collection of familiar folktales. The three Aesop's fables are retold in forced-sounding verse. For example, "The Tortoise and the Hare" limply concludes, "The Tortoise being winner/against all the odds/proves that victory lies/in the lap of the gods."
