Gr 3-5 These two series entries do not quite rise above the "Indians as artifacts" syndrome but they are as good or better than other similar books. Creek starts out well by answering the question, "Who are the Creek?" The author gives a full page of current information before segueing into the history, while Powhatan answers the same question with past-tense information, a standard mistake giving the first impression that these proud people are merely a relic.
