In conventional Little Red Hen stories, the protagonist works hard cultivating her crops in order to make bread. But bread is chometz (not kosher for Passover)—so who will help the hen make the matzah? Little Red thinks she'll get some assistance from Sheep, Horse, and Dog ("Such friends she had—always ready to lend a hand").
