Gr 4-6 In February, 2001, American Ann Bancroft and Norwegian Liv Arnesen became the first women to ski across Antarctica. Their expedition has the makings of a good story, but this sketchy overview is maddeningly short on information and on giving a sense of the people involved. Ryan's purpose, emphasized in the theme restated on just about every text page, is to tell how two women made a dream a reality.
